In a few short days we will be celebrating Memorial Day weekend. In the US this is a time for BBQs, the beach, baseball, and many other outdoor events and celebrations. While we are enjoying our freedoms take a chance to honor the over 1.3 million brave men and women that have given their lives during our wars and the conflicts that they participated in to insure the rights and privileges that we have as Americans.
There is much discussion about curriculum in schools. Let's safeguard the important history of our country by making sure that we take the time to teach our kids about the American Wars, the sacrifices made and the significance of what was accomplished by those sacrifices. We can disagree about the need for many of the conflicts but we can't disagree with the gratitude that we owe to our service members. Learning about what was accomplished and the mistakes that were made by our leaders in times of war/conflict will insure that future generations of political leaders make good choices with a healthy appreciation of the consequences of their decisions.
God Bless our service men and women and God Bless America!
